The recently updated Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) Designation Course will give you the professional tools and knowledge to be an advocate and guide for your buyer-clients.

The goal of the ABR® two-day designation course is to educate and prepare buyer’s reps to provide the top-notch service and fidelity to buyers and to offer methods for building your buyer representation business. In each course module, you will examine a different topic and ultimately create a comprehensive guide to help you become an effective, efficient and profitable buyer’s representative.

After completion of the course, you'll be on your way to earning the Accredited Buyer's Representation (ABR®) Designation. 

Additional Information:

This course is the main requirement for the Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) Designation. Successful completion of this course also fulfills the elective-course requirement to earn the Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) Designation.

Requirements to attain and use the ABR® designation:

  1. Meet the REBAC® education requirement – complete a 2-day ABR Designation Course.
  2. Complete one elective course.
  3. Obtain practical experience acting as a buyer’s representative in 5 documented and verifiable transactions (transactions that occurred any time prior and up to 36 months after course completion).
  4. Be a member in good standing with REBAC® and the National Association of REALTORS® at all times.

In addition to successfully completing the ABR 2-day course, student must successfully take and complete one elective course. We do not offer all elective courses at all times. If you do not see a course you’d like to take, please visit the REBAC Web site at www.rebac.net for a complete list of national course offerings.

After completing this two-day course, you will have achieved ABR® “Candidate Status”, a three-year period during which you must fulfill the remaining ABR® Designation requirements in order to earn your ABR® Designation. The two-day course covers agency, service delivery, marketing and promotion, and negotiation and risk management.

Only REALTORS® who meet all these requirements and have been officially awarded the ABR® designation are permitted to call themselves an ABR® and use the ABR® logo.

IMPORTANT! Attendance requirements: This is an in-person training. To receive CE credit, attendees must sign-in and attend the full duration of class. Those who arrive more than 30 minutes late to the session will not be eligible to receive CE credit.

Michael Smith, a.k.a. “Smit” has been working in the residential real estate industry for over 25 years. Smit’s trifecta expertise combines his experience as a real estate broker, owner and mortgage lender and his degrees in law to bring a well-rounded approach to his teaching. Smit’s NAR designation courses have been taught throughout the PNW. His passion for real estate, finance and teaching has led him to create and launch several custom courses as well, addressing current trends such as Survival Skills in a Changing Market (Covid19), What you should Know about STR’s and Real Estate Finance for Realtors.
